We are fortunate at SFX to offer Spanish lessons to all our students.  In the Early Ed classes (Pre-K through 2nd grades) we cover several themes to introduce them to the language while using a ludic approach. Songs, dance, music, videos, and engaging activities are all part of our lessons. The students learn while having fun, and keeping a positive attitude toward their learning experience.

  • Colors

  • Alphabet

  • Numbers

  • Greetings and salutations

  • Animals

  • Body parts

  • Holidays are amongst the themes covered.

As for grades 3 through 5, we start them with a non-traditional grammatical approach, using a textbook for both classes. The students get to experience and learn new vocabulary such as:

  • Calendar, weather, and time

  • Sports, activities, and hobbies

  • Going to the market

  • Housing

  • Professions

  • Proper sentence creation and usage

 

Lastly, our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have a textbook used to prepare them for high school needs. This curriculum is spread throughout their 3 years of middle school. While they still review past notions, we work more diligently around real-world experiences, strategies, and culture-filled activities.
