Mrs. Robin McCormick - Development Director
I am honored to serve as Development Director at Saint Francis Xavier, a school I have loved and been a part of for decades.
My connection to the school goes back to 1986 when the oldest of my seven children entered kindergarten here. Since that time I have been a parent, a grandparent, a member of the School Board, and a volunteer at a gazillion school events (that’s a rough estimate) before taking on the role of Director of Development in 2010.
I grew up in Ohio, graduating from Ohio University in 1975 with a B.A. in English. I graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1978. Immediately following graduation, I married a very cute law school classmate, Tom McCormick (who also happens to be a graduate of SFX School), and moved to his home state – beautiful Vermont. Tom and I practiced law together at McCormick, Fitzpatrick, Kasper and Burchard for twenty years until I took the world’s longest maternity leave in 1999 when our youngest child arrived.
Our pastor, Monsignor Lavalley, was concerned I would be bored with only seven children to tend to, so he kindly asked me to return to the School Board at that time. My current position in the Development and Admissions office allows me to spend time with our wonderful community of students, teachers, staff, parents, volunteers, and incredibly generous benefactors, for which I am very grateful. My grandchildren and grand-nephews and grand-nieces currently attend SFX, enabling me to see the 4th generation of our family in action here.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my favorite deacon – the aforementioned Tom McCormick- my children and grandchildren and dreaming of winning an outrageously huge lottery for SFX School!
