Mrs. Laura Kalagher - Music & Spanish
I joined the Saint Francis Xavier family in 2019 as a music teacher and was so excited to become part of such a wonderful community. In fact, I loved it so much, I took on the role of Elementary Spanish teacher starting in the fall of 2023.
I am married with three daughters and two step-sons, a few in-laws and 4 grandchildren. My youngest still lives at home, but is growing up way too quickly!
I grew up in Massachusetts and found a true love of music while singing in my church choir. I ended up studying music performance at Skidmore College, graduating with a degree in Music with a vocal concentration. As a young wife and mother, I stepped away from performing, but music was still a large part of who I was. When we moved to Williston, I joined the folk choir at Immaculate Heart of Mary, and found my home. I became the music director and started doing weddings and funerals as a part-time job.
I started studying Spanish in the 5th grade and continued through the AP Spanish class as a senior in high school. All three of my children have taken/are taking Spanish, so it is a language we actually use frequently when we converse. Using the knowledge I have and the great information I have gotten from our previous Spanish teachers, I’m confident that the students will learn and enjoy our classes.
I am blessed to be able to work with your children (some twice a week)!
