Mrs. Jennifer Parent - Middle School Math
I am originally from St. Albans, Vermont. I graduated from Castleton State College with a bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences in 1994. I worked as a Microbiologist until I made the decision to stay home and raise my children. I live in Essex Junction with my husband Richard and 3 of our 4 daughters. Our oldest daughter lives in South Carolina and just recently graduated from college. We have two daughters going down south for school this Fall and our youngest is a junior in high school. We have been parishioners of St. Francis Xavier parish since 2020, before that we were parishioners of HFSL parish is Essex Junction.
I volunteered in my daughters’ classrooms for 10 years and then began to substitute teach in their schools. I enjoyed my assignment so much with the special educators and working with the small groups of students that I decided to pursue my teaching license for middle school science. I completed the TAP program at Champlain College 2019-2020. I did my student teaching in Essex Junction and had a long term substitute teaching job before I finished the program. Over the two years after receiving my license, I have taught remotely, hybrid, and then finally back to 5 days a week in person. The second time that I taught remotely I was the only Science teacher for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade at EWSD’s Remote Academy.
This past year I was able to add my math endorsement to my current teaching license.I am now certified in Middle school Math and Science. I have been the middle school math teacher here at SFX for two years. I have really enjoyed my time here and have learned so much from my students and colleagues. This community has truly become my extended family and enriched my catholic faith.
I look forward to my third year teaching math at SFX. I am also excited to be helping in the journey of educating your children.
