Catherine Ducasse - Student Advocate
My name is Catherine Ducasse and I am very excited to be a part of the St Francis Xavier School community. I am rooted in and stay grounded in my Catholic faith, and I can't wait to share His love with every student. I am thrilled to be back in the educational system combining my passions of faith, education, and mental health support and advocacy.
Many of my past experiences have led me to this role. For the past 5 years, I have worked as a victim advocate and associate director for HOPEWORKS. HW is a non-profit organization supporting victims of sexual and domestic violence in Chittenden County. Before that, I worked as a Catholic elementary school teacher for 9 years, 4 years in the public school system, and 3 years in the international school system. I have also worked as a Hospital School Teacher to ensure that patients with extended medical care received educational and transitional services, I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work through Simmons University!
On a personal note, I am originally from Canada and I speak French. I am a mother of 17-year-old twins- a boy and a girl. They are seniors in high school and preparing for college applications. I enjoy traveling, eating at restaurants, hiking, and swimming.
It is a true gift to be a student advocate and a caring presence in the students’ lives.
