Afterschool Program

At St. Francis Xavier School, we strive to educate the whole person and our Afterschool Program - which offers after school, vacation and summer care for students - is part of that process.

We offer students a snack each day. Students are then allowed free time to explore new ideas with their peers. We spend a great deal of time playing outside as well. During inclement weather, we play games in the gym. Activities include arts and crafts, special games of bingo, board games, Lego station as well as other fun games. We have little parties to celebrate Christmas and Valentine Day. During vacations, we have weekly themes.

  • Monday through Friday, from the dismissal of school until 5:30pm

  • The program corresponds with the school calendar for each academic year

  • The Afterschool Program separates children into three groups based on grade level to ensure that activities are age appropriate:

  • Littles - Preschool through Kindergarten

  • Bigs - 1st grade through 4th grade

  • Homework Program - 5th grade through 8th grade

  • At the end of the school day, younger children are escorted from their classroom to the Afterschool Program room by staff members

During our summer program, we have weekly themes with fun correlating activities. We go to the Winooski Myers pool Monday through Thursday. We also have a fun Field Trip where students get to travel to a wonderful local museum.
